Day 13-Be of Good Courage

Today’s Bible Reading:
Genesis 28:1-29:35; Matthew 9:18-38; Psalm 11:1-7; Proverbs 3:11-12

But the Lord is in his holy Temple;
the Lord still rules from heaven. (Psalm 11:4a)

No matter what is going on I am brought back to this verse from today’s reading over and over again.  When life is feeling like it is reeling out of control I go back to this truth.  And just who is this Lord who still rules from heaven?  He is the same as the One I read about in Matthew this morning.  The One who can heal a woman who has been suffering for 12 years. The One with the power to bring a little girl back to life.  The One who gave sight to two blind men.  The One who cast out a demon and restored a man’s ability to talk.  The One who healed every kind of disease and sickness.  The One who looked upon people and the state they were in and had great compassion for them.  So, I pour out my heart to the One who always hears me, to the One who sits on His throne and still rules from Heaven. To the One who has power over life and death and looks upon us with great compassion.  And in this moment the Lord quiets my heart and gives me strength and courage to carry on.
