Today is a day to begin anew. A fresh start with no mistakes in it. Of course the moment I wake up the mistakes start fresh too, lol. This year I am using the English Standard Version (ESV) to read through the Bible in chronological order. I have never stuck with this plan all the way through the year before so I am looking forward to a fresh approach. I intend to post the day's reading plan every day whether I write my thoughts down or not. Some days may not be more than just a verse that caught my attention, but I hope to actually make this a daily deal. It will help to keep me accountable, and I really hope it also helps to encourage you to read through your Bible with me.
Today's reading is very familiar, and sometimes when I read those familiar words I do not give great attention to them. That is one reason I like to switch which version I read each year, in attempt to challenge this brain of mine to actually think about what I am reading.
At the start of 2019 I am reminded that God is in control. He created everything I see, and all of those things which I do not see. Before the fall, it was all very good and just as He intended it to be. And then came the forbidden fruit, and isn't that just like us, to want things that we were never intended to have...to not be content with what God has so richly given to us? I want to work on that this year-being content.
