On the road to Mt Shasta
Today’s Bible Reading:
Genesis 20; Matthew 19; Nehemiah 9; Acts 19: Proverbs 19
This morning I am praising God for who He is. As I read through my Bible each year I try to stop at those verses that tell about God and focus on who He is. Nehemiah 9:17 is just such a verse. “But You are a God of forgiveness, gracious and compassionate, slow to anger and abounding in lovingkindess.” The majority of this chapter is about God’s character as he dealt with Israel over the years-it is a good read in understanding how God works among His people, a people who are rebellious and disobedient, and yet God patiently deals with them, pouring out His love and mercy time and time again when they stumble along the way. The God of Nehemiah 9 is the very same God who loves me today, and all of my tomorrows-for eternity.
