Genesis 30; Mark 1; Esther 6; Romans 1: Proverbs 29
Romans was written by Paul to the church at Rome, and as I read the first chapter this morning, the importance of Paul’s letter for us today hit me as it does every time I come to this letter. In the midst of this horribly broken, fallen world we are the righteous who live by faith. We are the ones whom God has called out of that darkness to walk in the light of His great love for us. In the midst of the world in which we live, we must say like Paul, “For I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes, to the Jew first and also to the Greek. For in it the righteousness of God I revealed from faith to faith; as it is written, ‘But the righteous shall live by faith.’” (-Romans 1:16-17, NASB) In our crooked and perverse generation there is still hope for everyone who believes. The Good News is still the greatest news the world has ever heard and I need not be ashamed of it. God has given me the faith I need to be faithful while I walk this earth. May He indeed find me faithful.
Grace, peace, and mercy,
Debra
