Exodus 16; Luke 19; Job 34; 2 Corinthians 4: Proverbs 5
I don’t know why it is, but 1 Corinthians 4:16-18 struck a chord with me this morning. Usually I notice that “momentary light afflictions” line, but this morning it is the “Therefore we do not lose heart, but though the outer man is decaying, yet our inner man is being renewed day by day.” Maybe it is the gray hairs that have ben appearing, maybe the wrinkles, maybe the aches when I get up and try to move, maybe it was the guest speaker we had at Sunday School yesterday sharing about assisted living or watching the high schoolers performing in their spring musical and seeing what great heights the dancers achieved and knowing that I am no longer capable of what I once was-but it hit me that my outer “man” is indeed showing signs of decay. The joy here is that my inner “man” is being renewed every single day.
Grace, peace, and mercy,
Debra
