Exodus 20; Luke 22; Job 38; 2 Corinthians 8: Proverbs 9
And then God begins His answer to Job (Job 38) and in God’s response we get to know Him more.
These things that I take for granted in my everyday life-each and every one is designed and carried out by God Himself.
My heart is full of thanksgiving and praise to my God who:
- laid the foundation of the earth
- set boundaries for the sea
- commands the morning and caused the dawn to know its place (did I think about that this morning as I got up to meet another day?)
- has entered the depths of the sea
- understands the expanse of the earth
- knows the dwelling places of light and darkness
- has storehouses of snow and hail “reserved for the day of war and battle” (I know whose side I want to be on)
- is in charge of wind, flood, and thunderbolts
- brings rain on the land
- has begotten the drops of the dew (many a morning I have walked on the dewy grass and not considered it source)
- gives birth to the ice and the frost (ever marvel at frost on a window? That is God’s handiwork)
- controls the stars in the heavens and leads them in their path each season
- has fixed the sun and moon to rule over the earth
- speaks to the clouds to unleash an abundance of water at His command
- directs the path of lightning bolts
- gives wisdom and understanding to the mind
- hunts for prey for the lion
- prepares food for the raven
Grace, peace, and mercy,
Debra
